DIPLÔME
INTER-UNIVERSITAIRE NEUROSCIENCES
UNIVERSITE
PIERRE ET MARIE CURIE
and
ECOLE
NORMALE SUPERIEURE
For the Dual Masters in
Brain and Mind Sciences (UPMC-ENS-UCL)
Other partner
institutes: Collège de
France, Ecole Supérieure de Physique et Chimie Industrielle de la Ville de
Paris (ESPCI), Ecole Polytechnique, Institut Pasteur
Training in neurobiology is offered during two
semesters (S1 and S2). Integration in a research laboratory is included in the
second semester. The laboratory
research is followed by a written report and oral defense. Numerous
high-quality laboratories, working in a wide range of subjects in neurobiology,
are under contract with the UPMC and/or the ENS ; and this course can thus
offer a situation particularly favorable to studies at the interfaces between
disciplines, especially Cognitive Sciences. The system of modular credits
(ECTS) favors mobility between French universities but also toward other
European universities.
Most coursework takes place during the first semester
(S1). The student chooses among
courses ("UEs ") of 6 ECTS and 3 ECTS, for a total of 30 ECTS. The second semester's laboratory
research is associated with 30 ECTS.
N.B. This list of available UEs is roughly
divided into Cellular/Molecular Neurosciences and Cognitive Neurosciences but
there is overlap between these divisions ; see individual course
